Los vendedores callejeros [street vendors] are busy selling their many types de los melones [types of melons] as the season comes in. I bought una sandía muy dulcea [a very sweet watermelon] for just C$120 córdobas ($4.44) just three blocks away.
They also sell locally grown piñas [pineapples] for excellent prices.

This horse just delivered a load of tropical fruit to a sidewalk fruit vendor in front of La antigua estación sur de autobuses [The old south bus station] here in Estelí, Nicaragua just two blocks away. The old caballero [cowboy] is getting something sweet to carry back to the finca [small farm] for his family. Notice the colorful mural on the wall.

Estelí is famous for its wonderful diversity of hand painted murals. Here is a good example of one. We offer a guided tour of some of Estelí's new and historic murals.

Their specialty was Surf-'n-Turf (Mar y Tierra).
The ambiance is pleasant and the food was good. I have enjoyed dining there in the past. I had hoped they would have continued. The location was not good for casual walk-in diners. The building is now for sale.

The boat gets so close to the monkeys they can get in the tour boat if the captain isn't careful to stay out of reach while you take pictures. The monkeys will even pose for you. lol

These islands were created from an eruption that is believed to have occurred when Volcán Mombacho was being formed so long ago.
